I buy burritos at this store when I travel. This time the burritos were not good, low key bad. The mole burrito was very, very salty. The beans that come in the huevo con chorizo burritos were so dry they were flaky. The tortillas weren’t good either, they didn’t have a homemade feel, they tasted like comercial flour tortillas. The guava empanada had very little filling, it was mostly bread.

The other day I went into bakery and ordered some conchas. The conchas had some type of fruit fly or insect of some sort on them.I immediately returned conchas to the store. The employee was very apologetic and gave me new conchas. I then noticed there was fruit flies INSIDE the pastry case. That’s very gross and disturbing. Owner really needs to be aware of this issue as these bugs don’t show up overnight. I only gave one star and that one star goes to the employee that was apologetic and very nice before and after this situation. As we were on a delayed flight and stuck at the airport my father also ordered a cafe de olla. But as he took the first drink he realized the coffee was very bitter.

I arrived yesterday to visit my family in El Paso and on my way to get my luggage, I walked past this little place I never noticed in my previous visits. The menu sounded awesome and the decor was beautiful. I was starving too. So I went in and I wanted everything! But I decided on a mole empanada and a green chili empanada along with a pistachio drink to wash it all down. The employee there was so sweet and welcoming. I told her how great the place looked and she pointed to the owner's photo on the wall and said it is all her. The lady in the photo looked like a very sweet woman and I want her to know that her food is absolutely delicious! I just found another must go to spot for every time I visit home! Keep up the great work and best of luck. I'll definitely be stopping by when I pass through the airport in a week.

We stopped in the airport location when we arrived in El Paso. Had empanadas and they were amazing! When we were leaving El Paso we went again and had another great experience here. I tried the cafe de olla, and also got a chocolate croissant and a few items to go, a green Chile burrito and delicias de Nutella. So glad we came across this bakery/cafe. We hope to be back to El Paso again some day and will definitely return to Chiquis!!

Ms. Claudia was the highlight of my morning at the airport! She pulls you in with her flamboyant personality! I had the coffee and croissant (made from scratch). It was fluffy and delicious! Will definitely stop in next time I'm around. Cheers!
